Hi everyone, as you know the Brigid has now left and Rachael is our new Manager, please be patient while she goes through the transition. Her hours will be limited this week until she is here full time from 10 June. She will be checking emails and memberships regularly.
Squash Court 1 will be closed from 4 June to 5pm 5th June as we are getting the court coated.
PSA Browns Bay RC Squash Open
Congratulations to Lwamba Chileshe and Lana Harrison on becoming our new champions. We all observed many amazing games as the depth of competition was strong. It was also inspiring having juniors, masters, along with the ‘old/broken or new’, playing beside our elite NZ based players. A massive acknowledgment must go to Peter Lowe (Landworks Consulting), Stu Frear (ECB Property Maintenance) and Russel Whitlock (SHARE Albany) as sponsors – we would not have been able to have hosted a PSA Satellite tournament without them. I also like to thank the amazing gestures from so many members who donated money, gifts and time in supporting this tournament. All profits will go into court upgrades. The gesture from Claire Jowsey and Audrey Cadness just before prize giving, who donated over $250 of their profits in food to ‘Squash’, along with the money from the raffle has tipped our profit above $2000! Amazing. I can announce that along with the money that Keiran Does donated last year we have enough funds to fully recoat court 1 and have confirmed this to take place from June 4. Equally pleasing is that the bar took approx. $4000, where the profits will go back into the club. A final thank you goes to ‘tennis’, we had a number of tennis players who accepted the challenge and entered squash for the first time. Our point of difference on the Shore is reinforced, we offer both tennis and squash in ‘one club’!
