The office and bar will be closed during the festive season from the 23rd of December 2017 until the 15th of January 2018.

DB Breweries has kindly sponsored the club with 3 new umbrellas. Please be considerate and pull umbrella’s down when finished using it.
From the Tennis Court
TENNIS – JUNIORS
As newly-appointed Junior Convenors, hello and well done on completing a very warm and eventful pre-Xmas interclub. We hope that everyone enjoyed good tennis. Congratulations on an excellent overall result for Browns Bay. Of the 8 junior teams competing, we had a winning team (Boys Prem 1), two runners up (Girls Prem 1 & Girls 15C) and a third place (Girls Prem 1). A big thanks to team managers and parents for organising teams and supporting the players – junior interclub wouldn’t happen without you!
As the previous newsletter mentioned, we are busy finalising a few changes for post-Xmas interclub and teams will be submitted to Tennis Northern in the last week of December. If there are any changes to your team that you have not already spoken to Kim about please email her on [email protected] If you know of any junior players who are not currently in a team but would like to play interclub please also email Kim this week. You will receive details of finalised teams, including re-grading, in January.
Dates for post-Xmas interclub are as follows:
12U & 15U 10 Feb – 24 Mar (Saturday)
Prem/Elite 11 Feb – 25 Mar (Sunday)
JUNIOR CLUB CHAMPS
We will be working on organising junior club champs in Term 1, so look out for more information and put your name down to participate. Details to follow in the new year.
TOURNAMENT

From the squash committee
The squash committee would like to thank everyone for their involvement throughout the year in our successes in interclub, tournaments, and regional and national awards. It’s always great to see our club members succeeding. A special thank you to our large group of volunteers who have supported the events we have put on, we can’t do this without you and we look forward to your continuing support through 2018.
We wish you all a very merry Xmas and a Happy New Year and we look forward to another successful year for BBRC squash in 2018.
Court 4 Blackboard Bookings
As nearly everyone has a smartphone or computer, and are capable of booking courts online, the committee has decided to open court 4 as a permanent online booking court. This will provide additional booking capacity during peak times and will ensure that all court availability is visible to everyone. This will apply from 1 Jan 2018.
PAR 11 (Point a Rally to 11) senior interclub trial
Some of you will have provided feedback on the Squash Auckland PAR 11 trial that was run for Senior Spring interclub. The result is out – the current interclub rules for B2 and below to play PAR 15 will remain unchanged. For details on the survey results have a look here – squashauckland.org.nz/newsarticle/56970
Team Challenge
The Team Challenge entry sheet is filling very fast for the summer version of this event. This will be played on Tuesdays from 16th Jan to 27th Feb. If you want to enter get your name up on the entry sheet on the upstairs squash noticeboard or send me an email. It’s filling very fast so be quick if you want a permanent spot. Reserve spots are always available so let me know if you would like one of these.
The Spring team challenge concluded this week with the Yellow team led by Tina Jones taking the trophy. Congratulations to Tina Jones, Chris Wiggin, Allister Zimmerman, Len Bentley and Anna Jowsey.
Club nights
A reminder that these are now finished for this year. General club night will start again on Thursday 18th Jan and Juniors on Friday 2nd Feb. Ladies club night will be back again sometime in the New Year.
